What began as a simple prototype grew into a fully realised artwork. This wooden object emerged from a personal dream: the desire to one day build a small plane, briefly leave the ground and return to earth. Rather than being developed as a technical construction, this idea was translated into a minimal form and a simple movement.

Initially conceived as a test model for a larger outdoor installation, the work is set in motion by a mechanism powered by sand, allowing the oval form to slowly rise and descend. During the making process, however, it became clear that the prototype had developed a presence of its own. Its materiality, visible construction and slow, almost meditative movement give the object an independent character.

The choice of wood is essential. It reveals traces of handcraft, use and time. Small imperfections remain visible and become part of the work. This approach resonates with the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi, in which simplicity, transience and imperfection are recognised as carriers of beauty. The work invites attentive looking and slows down the experience.
